Account

Download stray, enter your phone number, and verify with the OTP sent via SMS. Complete the onboarding steps to set up your profile.

Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your profile, matches, messages, and all associated data. This action cannot be undone.

Go to the Profile tab → tap Edit Profile. You can update your photos, bio, travel dates, and preferences.

Discovery & Matching

Make sure location permissions are enabled for stray in your phone's settings. Also check that your discovery is not paused (Profile → Settings → Discovery).

Swipe right on someone you'd like to connect with. If they swipe right back, it's a match and you can start chatting.

Female travelers can enable women-only mode in discovery settings. When enabled, you'll only see and be seen by other female travelers.

Verification

stray requires all users to verify their identity with a government-issued ID and a selfie. This ensures every profile is real.

Usually under 24 hours. You'll receive a notification once your account is verified.

Email us at support@straywandrs.tech with your account email and we'll help resolve it.

Safety

Tap the SOS button on the map screen. Your current GPS location is immediately sent to your designated emergency contact via email. You can set your emergency contact in Profile → Settings → Emergency Contact.

Open their profile → tap the three-dot menu → select Block or Report. Blocked users cannot see you or contact you. All reports are reviewed by our team.

Our team reviews every report within 24 hours. Users who violate our community guidelines are removed from the platform.

Meetups

Go to the Meetups tab → tap the + button. Set a title, location, and time. Nearby travelers will be notified.

Open the meetup → tap Leave Meetup. Your RSVP will be removed.

Technical

Try force-closing and reopening the app. If the issue persists, delete and reinstall. If it still happens, email us at support@straywandrs.tech with your device model and iOS/Android version.

Go to your phone settings → stray → Notifications → make sure notifications are allowed. Also check Profile → Settings → Notifications in-app.

Community Guidelines

stray is built on trust. We remove users who:

  • Misrepresent their identity
  • Harass or spam other travelers
  • Use the platform for commercial solicitation
  • Share inappropriate content
